• Most grains are high in carbohydrates. As carnivores, cats do not need grains in diet as
  they have limited digestive enzymes to digest carbohydrate in their gut.

• Has been found to be indigestible and without nutritional value.
• It is often used in wet foods to fill, thicken, and emulsify.

No Thickening Agent

• While thickening agent is still under extensive research by nutrition scientists, some have been shown to be harmful to gut health when used as a food ingredient.
